The Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy is planning a celebration that starts at Two Strike Park (5107 Rosemont Ave., La Crescenta) on Sat., June 30, to celebrate its acquisition of eight acres of wilderness at the top of Rosemont Avenue.
According to a release from the conservancy, " The land will never be developed, will always be protected as wilderness for birds and wildlife, and will be available as a local resource."
Festivities start with volunteer habitat restoration at 8:30 AM. and continue with docent-led tours at 10:15 AM. All are welcome at either, but please RSVP here for the restoration portion because space is limited.
The event will culminate in a ceremony at 11:30 AM, recognizing those who made the acquisition possible and offering a glimpse of what is to come. Light refreshments will be served.
