Athens Services has sent out a flyer to customers that their first annual curbside cleanup will take place in the next few weeks, offering residents a chance to get rid of some items that may not go in the normal trash pickup.
Items that can be left at the curb include buky items (furniture, appliances, and up to two car/truck tires); electronic equipment (but not light bulbs nor batteries); and extra bagged trash.
Athens says it cannot collect household hazardous waste such as paint, motor oil, paint thinner, turpentine, pesticides, herbicides, or anything that requires a proper disposal. If you have any questions, call Athens' customer service ad 877-764-5551. Household hazardous waste disposal questions can go to 888-CLEAN-LA or visit www.CleanLA.com
