Independence Day is Wednesday, but fireworks display season in LA county starts Sunday. June 30, through July 4 (and July 6 on Catalina).
The Los Angeles County Fire Department has an online list of fireworks displays in the county right here (including the July 2 display in Altadena).
If you want to have a display at home, you're out of luck: the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has the lowdown on fireworks in the unincorporated county (in a word: no).
Fireworks are illegal to possess in the Unincorporated Area of Los Angeles County, which includes the community of Altadena. Safe & Sane fireworks are not illegal to possess. However, they are only legal to discharge in a city that sells them. When dealing with Safe & Sane Fireworks, remember the difference between possession (legal) and discharging them in a prohibited area (illegal). All Safe & Sane Fireworks are marked as such. Any device that explodes, rises into the air or darts about, is illegal in California. Illegal fireworks include: bottle rockets/skyrockets, exploding firecrackers, or extremely large explosions.
In the event you need to report illegal fireworks activity, be prepared to describe what you see. Information needs to be reported as soon as possible. If you see the violator, describe their approximate age, color of clothing, as well as how long the violation has been occurring.
Please keep in mind this is an extremely busy holiday for the County Fire Department and Altadena Station. Based upon the urgency of the call for service, our personnel will prioritize our response as needed.
