There was a full helicopter-and-squad-car rollout around 2 PM this afternoon around the 2700 bock of Marengo. Watch commander tells us that the initial call was of a carjacking, but as of 3 PM they believe it was a domestic dispute over ownership of a car that got out of hand.
UPDATE 6 PM: Two adults are in custody following this incident. Altadena Sheriff Station watch commander Lt. Brian Fitch said that two will be charged with carjacking, but it is related to the disputed ownership of a vehicle between family members.
It was "as much a dispute between family members as anything else, but there was some force to obtain a car there," Fitch said. "It was bad enough to the point where we got involved, and we responded accordingly until we could get it sorted out."
Both suspects were described as adults, but no other description or identification was available at this time.
