Reader Tanya and her husband have found a fresh new kitten, and ... well, let her tell it:
I think mama got scared by our dog and has abandoned kitten #2. We checked in on it and it just keeps crying. This has been since about 4 PM today. We read something that says they need to eat every 3 hours and if they are young (as this one is) they need help with bowel movements. We can still hear it peeping, so we have hope that if someone can take this little one on, it may have a chance!
We're both highly allergic (our minimal contact with the area has already left us both itching and sneezing) so we're crossing our fingers that a kind neighbor can help the little guy (or girl). ... I wish Humane Society could take it, but they said anything under 2 lbs is euthanized. Our estimation is that this one is about a week old. It's eyes are still shut and it'll need help feeding and doing its business.

UPDATE: Some good soul has adopted the kitten, and at Tanya's request, we've removed her contact information, because good people keep calling her offering to help!
