Graduate: Richard Otero of Altadena has earned a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Otero was among approximately 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech's 242nd commencement exercises.
Honors: Assemblyman Anthony Portantino was recently honored by the San Gabriel Civic Alliance with its Legislator of the Year award at a ceremony held in Baldwin Park last month. The Civic Alliance is a unique organization that promotes partnerships between business and labor. Portantino shared the award with Republican Assemblymember Curt Hagaman. Portantino was also recently honored by the Junior League of California State Public Affairs Committee as their Legislator of the Year.
