- The Wright stuff: When Kentucky businessman Dale Torock wanted to build an addition to his house, he got his inspiration from Altadena: a home on 1370 Morada Place that looks like a ship's prow, and designed by Lloyd Wright. Torok was so taken by it, he created his own version. The story of the addition is right here.
- Lassie come home: Our Dr. Barkman reports that a study of lost vs. found dogs and cats shows that 93% of lost dogs come home, either on their own or with help, thanks to dogtags and microchips. - The Other Side of Walmart: Ok, we don't usually like to go to HuffPo for obvious reasons (it's a large out-of-town enterprise that is trying to take us out of business), but it's worth looking at this article by Walmart's Senior Director of Community Affairs Steven S. Restivo which talks about the Neighborhood Markets (including Altadena's).
