The end of tomato season is over the horizon, but that's no reason not to enjoy an entire year with our favorite summer fruit (or is it a vegetable?).
Altadena Heritage presents gardener Kazi Pitelka, who will talk about growing, preserving, and enjoying tomatoes Sept. 9 in a talk in the kitchen of the Zane Grey Estate (Altadena food culture central). Pitelka will talk about choosing varieties and growing them, and demonstrations of ways to save them into the cold, tomato-free winter.
The workshop is $10, $5 for Altadena Heritage members. Reserve and pay for your spot at the Altadena Heritage website, or call 626-993-5338 to reserve your spot and mail your money to Altadena Heritage, 730 E. Altadena Dr., Altadena CA 91001. There will be only 35 spots available, so reserve yours now!
