As Altadena Community Church enters the second month of Pastor Joe McGowan's sabbatical, Jerod Yates picks up the baton from the Rev. Wendy Tajima, for 10 a.m. worship, continuing the theme of what it means to "be church." A Fuller Theological Seminary student who just completed his internship at ACC, Jerod will preach a three-part series on what it means to be a multiracial-multicultural church, on Sept. 2, 9, and 16.
On Sept. 23, 10 a.m. worship at ACC itself will be informal, and many in the congregation will join West Hollywood United Church of Christ for Worship in the Park, at Griffith Park. On Sept. 30, the congregation returns for worship led by the Rev. Barbara Anderson.
Altadena Community Church, 943 E. Altadena Drive, celebrates diversity and freedom of conscience in faith. For more information on the United Church of Christ denomination and the welcoming community at ACC, please see www.ucc.org and www.altadenaucc.org.
