A car crashed into a power pole at the corner of Altadena Drive and Mendocino Lane, knocking out power around the immediate neighborhood for several hours.
According to Lt. Angela Shepherd of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, a Dodge Magnum sedan ran into the power pole at approximately 10:10 PM Tuesday night, Sept. 18. According to the sheriff's report, the driver left the vehicle behind and fled the scene on foot. The California Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
The impact left several nearby neighborhoods without power. Southern California Edison responded with a temporary fix, restoring power to most homes by evening. According to the Southern California Edison website, all power has been restored as of this morning.
