A note from SaveAltadena's Steve Lamb says:Poncitlan has been in this location since the early 1990's. In spite of the belief that Poncitaln had a strong ethnic following and most Altadenans believed its business would not be effected by the opening of a supermarket at Lincoln Crossing, the supermarket cut her sales 50%.Mrs. Vega, the owner, expanded her Burrito, Taco and Torta business. Today Poncitlan is a take out food diner and most of the business is derived from sales of to-go food.The beef burrito is excellent. It comes with either a mild or hot sauce, but the hot sauce can be handled by the most tender of tongues.Let's support this scrappy business owner who is constantly adapting to survive.
