The 37th Annual Pasadena Area CROP Walk kicks off at 1 PM on Sunday, Oct. 28 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1014 E. Altadena Drive. Sponsored by the Church World Service, thousands of CROP Walks held around the country each year help fund projects around the world to provide sustainable sources of food and water, as well as to provide emergency relief when needed.
A quarter of the funds raised by the Pasadena CROP Walk will support local projects in the San Gabriel Valley, including Altadena’s own ACTS Food Pantry, Friends In Deed, the Pasadena Bad Weather Shelter, St. Vincent de Paul at St. Elizabeth’s, the Holy Family Giving Bank, and the Foothill Unity Center.
To add to the festivities, a band from Flintridge Prep will perform for the walkers. The Aloha Friday and Breezy Freeze food trucks will be on site to serve those in need of sustenance before, during and after their exertions.
Please join your friends an neighbors to support the hungry here at home and around the world. You can also donate to the CROP Walk online by clicking on this link.
