The sheriff's have mounted a containment on a burglary call tonight, starting at about 6 PM. One of our fellow scanner-heads, Maggie, tells us that "Containment goes from Calanda & Devirian down to Olive and Mariposa...not sure how far west but Olive seems to be the eastern border. Medics will go to Calanda and Devirian."
A call to sheriff office yielded nothing now, as the watch commander is at the scene.
7:05: scanner said they are breaking down the containment -- we'll monitor the situation, and when anybody can talk, we'll let you know!
UPDATE: Dep. Aura Sierra at Sheriff headquarters in Monterey Park said that a suspect attempted to break in to a home at the 2900 block of Calanda Avenue. The call came in at 4:25 PM Tuesday, and deputies responded by setting up a containment around the neighborhood. According to Sierra, after clearing the house and the neighborhood, the containment ended at approximately 8:05 PM with no suspect in custody.
The suspect was described as a black male in his 20's, 5 ft. 10 ins. to 6 ft. in height, and with a thin build.
