- Critters moving in: Our own Dr. Barkman (Jane Brackman) points us to this article in Science Daily about a study of coyotes in the metropolitan Chicago area, where about 2,000 are estimated to live. People moved to cities in part to get away from wild predators -- but now the wild predators are increasingly moving into cities. Since we have bobcats, bears, coyotes, and mountain lions sporting around Altadena, we can't say he's wrong.
