Received this message from a reader this afternoon -- keep on the lookout!
A teenaged girl just came to our door claiming to be a student at Pasadena Middle School. She says she is raising funds for her college program at the school and said to receive a bond for college: all she needed was a signature from a neighbor and a voided check". Please be careful!
This doesn't smell good for many reasons, not least of which is (1) there is no Pasadena Middle School (2) there's a college program for 6-8th graders? and (3) why would you need a voided check?
