The Altadena Sheriff Station has has just sent out an advisory (@ 4:40 PM) that the Altadena Search and Rescue Team are attempting a helicopter rescue of an injured horse.
According to the advisory, the horse and rider fell while on the" unpaved Brown Mountainway and El Prieto Mountainway. The rider is uninjured.
A helicopter rescue was initially tried and rescuers did not have much luck so they tried a heavy rescue. However, since the location is so high up on the mountain it was difficult for the rescue vehicles to access the area so a helicopter rescue is being attempted again.
