Thank you, Altadena!
Sometime during the day, we crossed the threshhold of two million page views.
When we started this site five years ago, we were never quite sure what would happen to it. This kind of business was relatively new, and our town had lived in benign news neglect for too-many years. Maybe Altadenans just didn't care about what happened in their town?
We were betting they didn't. We were betting Altadenans wanted to know what was going on in town council, in local business, in the library, on the streets with crime. When disaster struck, we were sure you'd want the latest information on what was happening here.
We've never made a better bet.
Thanks first to everyone in our sponsor team, some of the best businesses in the area who serve the people of Altadena with class, professionalism, and unique Altadena flavor.
Thank you to our civic-minded frequent correspondants who are so generous with their time and their photos: Bill Westphal, Chris Considine, Steve Gerow, and Gary Altadena rise to the top of the list.
Thank you to our "staff" of regular irregular contributors: Laura Monteros, Erika McCarden, Devon Pettingill, Lizze Slocum, and Michele Zack.
Thank you to all our readers who are our "boots on the ground," sending us tips, on-the-scene reports, pictures and emails. This is a real community effort, from the community we live in and love.
Yeah, we don't give you recipes, lifestyle tips, news from Sierra Madre or City News Service. But we're the first and still only website that gives you nothing but Altadena news from our Altadena headquarters.
We love this work. We love Altadena. Now, more than ever!
