The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team has been very busy rescuing errant hikers this year, and this time of year is a great time to give back to them.
According to a press release, during an average year AMRT assists approximately 100 lost or injured hikers and conducts almost 40 search and rescue operations every year. Headquartered at the Altadena Sheriff's Station, it is staffed by reserve deputies and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
AMRT is hard on vehicles and equipment, and, says the press release, "we do not charge for ANY searches or rescues no matter how extensive, difficult, or dangerous they may be. Consequently, over 50% of the funding for necessary equipment, vehicles, and training comes from private donations."
AMRT is a nonprofit 501 (c)3 corporation. Your tax-deductible donation today will ensure that the Altadena Mountain Rescue Team can continue in needed rescue services to the citizens of Altadena and other nearby communities.
