"Hiring Altadena," a workshop for potential employees of Walmart Neighborhood Market, will take place today from 9 AM-1 PM at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 2283 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
Potential Walmart employees can learn about the firm's application process and interview tips when applying for work at the new Neighborhood Market to open in Altadena next year.
Other sponsors include Foothill Workforce Investment Board and LA Works.
Walmart has said it will open a temporary hiring center near the planned store before the end of the year. "The hiring center will be open during the months leading up to the store opening, and will offer computer kiosks for the online application process and facilitate job interviews," according to a press release. "New hires will begin training at local stores or begin preparing the store for grand opening when construction is complete. All interested applicants will be able to apply online at http://careers.walmart.com beginning mid-December.
