The technologican Steve Bass reminds us that the last and possibly best meteor shower of the year is coming up this week: the Geminid shower will peak on mid-evenign Dec. 13 through the morning of Dec. 14, but nights on either side of that should have a good show as well. Since it's a new moon, the sky will be dark for added enjoyment of the shower, which can produce 50 or more meteors an hour (best time is probably from 1-3 AM Dec. 14). More information here.
