For Altadena, Christmas Morn,
the birds will start the day.
They think they sing the up sun too;
that's Twitter.... Nature's way!
And some will rise up with the birds,
then to church will travel.
Though some will sleep a bit in peace
before the gifts unravel.
Now some will have those visitors,
while others will have none.
Some more wish Midwest snow away,
so airlines--- they will run.
The forest yes, will have its peace,
that's Bob the Bobcat too.
We hope his bounty has been great,
with gopher menu true.
And Susan too, we wish for you---
plethora of milkweed,
as Monarch caterpillars crave
in butterfly life need.
For Sheriffs / Angie / Farnsworth Park,
your generosity,
has given some a joy and love---
without you----sad they'd be.
And then for the community,
to you, then raise a toast!
Your gifts of food and presents too,
and UNITY? The most!
Though tears will come from just a few,
in gift they wish to be.
For sadly there's no pony there
a-waitng by the tree.
And some will sigh for lives now missed,
upon this winter's day.
As long as they live in you still,
they share this holiday.
My Tannenbaum, a living tree,
within its branches hold,
sweet ornaments for lives now missed,
in decoration bold.
Baktun thirteen, it has now passed
we're here---- and Mayans too!
They say it shows a brand new age
of good that we will do.
The Macha was the olden time;
the Pacha starts anew.
A message for humanity,
and one we know of too.
For PEACE ON EARTH, the message strong,
this wish Humanity.
In GOOD WILL then---- for all the world,
"The best is yet to be."
