"To Celebrate The Road Less Traveled"

Born in the state of Tennessee,
a Yuchi* Indian name.
This name, it means "the meeting place,"
His work----- it meant the same.
The wonder of his work was that
the beauty he would find;
extraordinary or mundane,
it would engross our mind.
For Huell Howser made a life
within our Golden State.
Discoverer, he found delight
to happily relate.
Although he traveled simply,
he taught us all to see
the world around us is pure art---
originality!
The wonders found were myriad too,
from lint to those RVs.
And neighborhoods, we've overlooked,
with humor, oh yes please!
From California life we saw
both common and unique.
A pleasure just to hear his voice.
in softest Southern - speak.
And where did he get his first name?,
The answer is so cool.
His dad, Harold and mother, Jewell,
combined his name to Huell!
Though he has gone, we will retain
the wonder of his view.
"Eureka" our state motto is;
"I have found it!" ----Huell did too.
