Pasadena's Allendale Branch Library, 1130 S. Marengo Ave., will have a discussion with Southern California entertainment legend Bob Stane on Sat., Feb. 2, at 2 PM.
Stane, the owner of Altadena's Coffee Gallery Backstage, has spent over 50 years in the entertainment industry. As co-owner of The Ice House from 1961-1978, Stane nurtured the careers of The Association, The Smothers Brothers, Pat Paulson, Lily Tomlin, Jay Leno, and David Letterman. After unusuccessfully retiring, he established the Coffee Gallery Backstage in 1998, one of Southern California's premiere performance spaces.
In 2009, the Fork in the Road at St. John and Pasadena Avenues in Pasadena was constructed as a surprise birthday present for Stane. Stane received the Topanga Banjo and Fiddle Contest's Music Legend award in 2012.
