Quadrantid---in the air!
Meteor shower gifted us!
Space life shows off its flair.
Republicans, they start campaign;
numbers reach a gaggle.
Though many drop from race,you see;
onward goes the battle!
The ocean's on the front page news,
a tragedy at sea.
Costa Concordia, the ship
it sinks so horribly.
For FEBRUARY out in Greece;
people, they do riot.
Jobs and pensions cut so much!
Austerity's not quiet!
The Florida's gun law,"Stand your ground",
Who's ground, and where and when?.
Trayvon Martin, he is shot
and his life, it does end.
Now MARCH brings on those solar flares;
electric grid survives!
Lost----- Whitney Houston's glorious voice;
in silence ----now she lies.
An APRIL Fool from your cell phone,
its GPS tracks you.
Uneasy lies our privacy,
and Constitution too.
"I'll Have Another" wins Derby,
Kentucky land in MAY.
Donna Summer, Disco Queen---dies.
Her music---on will play.
Solar eclipse in this month too,
an annular eclipse.
It lasted for 3 minutes time,
if you were slow...you missed!
And in Chicago, the PD,
arrests bomb makers here!
Except, except---- what they did brew
was just some homemade beer!
Then JUNE finds in Egyptian land
Mubarak goes to jail.
And Fukishima's metal dock
to Oregon beach does sail.
A Venus Transit oh so rare,
for Earthlings --novel too!
Not till 2117,
will be the next Earth view!
Obama Care---is legal now,
Supreme Court, it did rule.
Though legal, the House spends its time
attempting to un-do!
JULY brings us to TV Land
Mayberry R.F.D.
and actor Andy Griffith's gone----
a lovely man was he.
Olympics come to London town;
we get to see the Queen.
With James Bond actor she performed
a 007 scene!
THE Dark Knight Rises, was a film,
that oh so savagely,
became a night of fear and death
Aurora's---- tragedy.
Then from the depths to AUGUST heights
in science now we see,
we land on Mars, the red planet,
with Curiosity.
With Phyllis Diller comedy,
where comedy is Queen
At 95, she passed away:
smile on her face was seen!
A future tolls in India
electric grid does drop.
For 620 million there,
all power ---it does stop!
SEPTEMBER brings us Isaac Storm,
and BP, blew its top.
You've still got leaking oil there,
BP---your gas, we'll drop!
Endeavour too, so many trips,
a U.S. made space ace.
Retired now, it will reside
in L.A.'s science place.
Felix Baumgartner----he's the one
OCTOBER brings to fame.
Twenty-four miles through stratosphere,,
he leaps---and LIVES--his aim!
This month brings to the U.S.A.
an early Halloween,
for Sandy Hurricane hits land
a nightmare ---- still obscene.
And in this month, Earths temperature,
the highest it does rise.
Drought kills-- crops die and cattle too;
we should not be surprised.
NOVEMBER brings election time
it's lasted all the year!
Obama wins as president,
so let's move forward here!
For Congress please work for us all,
as country it moves on.
Let's see some real work action here,
instead of a snark bomb!
DECEMBER brings Congressional death
Inouye --Island's son.
The Common Good, it lived in him,
and much good work was done.
In saddest tale, this nation mourns,
for New Town--- city named.
Lack of mental health--- plus guns
are now this nation's bane.
And Israel and Palestine,
all Middle East, you too;
for Peace on Earth, it serves us all,
you've got to work this through!
Although, we wonder how we'll end
this "fiscal cliff" they say.
Perhaps we'll need a bungee cord
and bounce in a new way!
So Happy New Year to you all,
though Rodney King is gone,
I'll speak his quote sincerely:
"Can we all ---get along?"
