Webster's Fine Stationers, 2450 N. Lake Avenue, will host a book signing on Thurs., January 17, with Randy Jurado Ertll, local author, activist, and Executive Director of the nonprofit El Centro de Accion Social.
Mr. Ertll's book, Hope In Times Of Darkness - A Salvadorian American Experience, has been hailed as "an inspiration and testament to the power of an individual to overcome obstacles and make a difference" and "finds even in the most dispiriting of experiences the seeds of change and social justice". Listen as Mr. Ertll tells of his childhood in South Central Los Angeles, his brushes with gangs, and the educational bolt-hole he found to escape the almost inevitable drudgery of life on the streets. Hear about his adventures while attending school in Minnesota; Washington, D.C.; and Virginia; and learn about his non-profit El Centro de Accion Social.

The event starts at 6 PM.
