Neighbors Building a Better Altadena held a forum for the 14 candidates for Altadena Town Council on May 29. The format was unusual; each candidate who attended made a general statement, and answered questions formulated by the audience, which had broken into small groups divided by census tract. The candidates then joined the small group that represented their tract for more direct discussions and questioning.
While there were no earthshaking revelations (except that Damon Hobdy, one of three candidates for CT 4603.01, supports incorporating Altadena into a city), the large candidate pool -- and the 60-some members of the audience -- held lively discussions
Before the event, NBBA submitted a questionnaire to all the candidates about where they stood on Altadena issues. The answers are available at their website.
