Altadena's Relay for Life as brought in more than $20,000 for cancer research thus far, according to figures released by the local coordinators.
The American Cancer Society local fundraiser was held in Farnsworth Park on June 1-2, with 15 teams and 87 official participants in a 24-hour walk.
Event chair Heather Morrow wrote in an email: "I was happy to see that we are over the $20,000 mark and only 4,500 away from our community goal of $25,000. We will be able to reach this goal by the end of August."
