Plans are underway for two events that will occur concurrently Sunday, July 14.
The Altadena Sheriff Station is holding an open house that afternoon from noon to 5 PM. At the same time, the Altadena Community Center next door will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with another open house, along with food and entertainment.
According to Sheriff Support Group president Robert Klomburg, whose organization is one of several headquartered at the Community Center, that event will include music by the Music is scheduled John Tirabasso Youth Jazz Ensemble of local young musicians, along with free food from El Patron Mexican Restaurant. The Rotary Club of Altadena will be selling beer and wine. Each of the Community Center tenants (which includes the Aladena Historical Society and Altadena Heritage) will give a presentation about their organization. And there will be speeches, of course!
The Altadena Community Center is at 730 E. Altadena Drive, and the Altadena Sheriff Station is next door at 780 E Altadena Drive.
