Both Whole Foods locations in Pasadena will hold a Communty Giving Day on Wednesday, June 5, to benefit Altadena's Five Acres.
The grocery stores will donate 5% of all net sales to Five Acres.
“Partnering with Whole Foods Market will help raise public awareness and much-needed funds, allowing Five Acres to provide critical resources to continue our mission of strengthening local families for long-term success and ensuring safe, loving environments for children in need,” said Jay Sanders, chief advancement officer of Five Acres in a statement.
“Five Acres is an organization that strives to create positive change by providing for children who will one day lead our communities,” said Cindy Estorga, Whole Foods Market Arroyo Parkway, marketing supervisor of Whole Foods Market. “In California alone, there are more than 58,000 children in the foster care system. Every child deserves a safe, loving and permanent family. We couldn’t be happier to contribute to making that vision come to life.”
The participating stores are the Arroyo store at 465 S. Arroyo Parkway, and the Hastings Ranch store at 3751 E. Foothill Boulevard.
The Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods Market stores devote several days a year to Community Support Days where they donate 5% of net sales to a local nonprofit or educational organization.
