Five Acres: the Altadena-based service organization has hired Jennifer Berger as chief advancement officer. Berger will lead the fundaising, marketing and communicaitons efforts of Five Acres. Berger was most recently director of development, outreach, and education at the Pasadena Playhouse.
Sheriff Food & Toy Drive; The Altadena Sheriff Station’s food and toy drive is getting underway. On Dec. 8, there will be neighborhood pickups at the President Streets, La Vina, Palm Street, and other locations (watch this space for details). The distribution will take place Dec. 21 at the Community Center. Receipients at the toy drive should sign up through their local schools.
Thursdays with Amie: check out Amy’s Patio Café tonight from 6:30-8:30. It’s burger night (always a good reason) and a celebration of local acoustic music.
Danielle Scott of Altadena (a history-political science major at the University of Pittsburgh) also treads the student boards: she's playing "Marsha" in U-Pitt's the student production of Anton Checkov's "The Seagull" Nov. 21-24.
