- Dogged: Woman-about-town Revvell Revati wanted to give a thank you: “I just want to give a shout-out to all the kids at Eliot who waited with me to care for Willow ~ the pretty white girl dog who decided to break out Monday morning, until her dad could get free to pick her up. I enjoyed seeing so many who were concerned for her and making sure she received a LOT of love and attention. Extra shout-out to the young man who read the tag on her collar so I could call her parents since I forgot my glasses.”
- Gates of hell: Our blog-friend Lindsay Blake, whose I Am Not A Stalker website is a favorite because she hunts down movie locations, went to Altadena for Halloween. The gates of the Cobb Estate served as the gates to Morningside Cemetery in the film "Phantasm," which was one of our college favorites.
- Missions conference: Samuel Nemati a Senior Chemistry with Biological Concentration major from Altadena, Calif. is one of seven LeTourneau University students who will attend the Global Missions Health Conference in Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 7-9. Local physicians interested in investing in the students' lives have provided funding for these students to attend the conference. LeTourneau University is a Christ-centered interdenominational institute of higher learning offering more than 90 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across a range of academic disciplines and delivery models. Students are enrolled in programs on ground at LETU's residential campus in Longview, Texas, as well as hybrid and fully online options at educational centers in Dallas and Houston.
