Lori Paul at Chaney Trail has sent this message out regarding a recurrent bad actor in the forest:
Unfortunately, "Rambro" (Joe Clay) the hunter who has been problematic in this region, is back. He is currently driving the following vehicle, a silver GMC Jimmy SUV with CA license plate #6YET586. It is parked up at the top of Chaney Trail near the Sunset Ridge (Mt. Wilson Fire Road) gate.
This bow hunter is often dressed in camouflage, has reportedly carried firearms, and been confrontational with local property owners when told not to set bait or hunt on their land. He has also carried weapons too close to popular trails, day use areas and residences.
The USFS LEOs have been alerted. Lonnie Fehr, the USFS Millard Canyon Campground caretaker, spoke with Clay, who replied with an offensive epithet I will not print here. Suffice to say that Clay refused to move on into the high country.
Be aware that this armed man is in the vicinity and be vigilant for your safety on local trails and in backyards near Angeles Forest.
