The final Altadena Farmers' Market of 2013 will be held today, from 3-7 PM at Loma Alta Park, 600 W. Palm Street. The market will be closed the following two Wednesdays, Dec. 25 (Christmas) and Jan. 1 (New Year's Day), but will return at the same time on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014.
Market manager Joseph Shuldiner sent out a reminder:
WIC and Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program checks expired November 30. If you received these checks and/or EBT, SSI, SSDI or Social Security benefits, you are eligible for our Market Match program. Get up to an additional $10 to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables every week at the farmers’ market. See us at the Information Booth for more details on Market Match.
New vendors include:
The Pig & Pastry Pie Co., which serves up homemade pot pies, hand pies, and biscuits from farmers' market fresh ingredients.
Hugo Foods will be cooking authentic Asian food.
Ram Fam Pottery will be this week's rotating artisan vendor, with handmade bootlegger jugs.
