The Altadena Sheriff Station gave away about 280 "care packages" to deserving familes Saturday, Dec. 21, after a successful 2013 toy and food drive.
Families (who filled out forms at schools and the Sheriff Station in order to qualify) received a selection of toys and a box of food to help make the holiday a little brighter.
Volunteers -- largely Volunteer on Patrol members -- checked in the recipients, and members of Mentoring and Partnership for Youth Development from John Muir High School and county jail trustys did the heavy lifting. More pictures after the jump.
