In Martin Luther King's writings,
find heart line to his soul.
A speaker's fame---words do inspire
to make the nation whole.
His speaking---it was powerful
in use of metaphor.
Those images he gave to us---
we'd never heard before.
A simple quote inspires the mind,
while thoughts will ponder long.
Words simple---yet so perfectly
build visions true and strong.
A Day Of Service ----is today
and if you have no plan,
then ruminate on what he said
for words describe the man!
This first:"THE TIME IS ALWAYS RIGHT
TO DO THE RIGHT THING."
A simple fact and single act;
such changes this can bring!
Next:: "INJUSTICE ANYWHERE IS
A THREAT TO---- JUSTICE,
EVERYWHERE." And the hurt lies then,
when no one---- will trust us.
And speaking of our hearts and minds:
"THE HEART CAN NEVER BE
TOTALLY RIGHT------WHEN THE HEAD IS
TOTALLY WRONG." Ah me!
" WARS ARE POOR CHISELS FOR CARVING
OUT PEACEFUL TOMORROWS."
A thought so pure and simply put---
memory of sorrows.
" WE MAY HAVE COME ON DIFFERENT SHIPS,"
a true world sentiment,
'"BUT---WE'RE IN THE SAME BOAT NOW."
analogy well spent.
Exquisite words, so many made
search google wide and far.
"I AM WHAT I AM BECAUSE
OF WHO WE ALL ARE."
HIs words are truly magic things
they give us strength today.
But ears are just as valuable
when answers come our way!
