THE HIGH WIND WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM PST THURSDAY. THE WIND ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
AREAS OF NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE TO 25 TO 40 MPH THROUGH THIS EVENING...PEAKING TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING WITH DAMAGING GUSTS TO AROUND 65 MPH. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE BELOW PASSES AND CANYONS OF THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY...INCLUDING PORTER RANCH...CHATSWORTH AND GRANADA HILLS. THESE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO WEAKEN THURSDAY AFTERNOON...BUT MAY REMAIN ABOVE ADVISORY LEVELS THROUGH SATURDAY.
A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH OR GUSTS OF 58 MPH OR MORE CAN LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE.
