Garfield the cat always said, "I hate Mondays." Yesterday was one of those.
In addition to record high temperatures (we recorded 100 a few times unofficially yesterday, but haven't gotten an official high yet), the lights went out all over Altadena last night around 5:30. (This also explains why we went silent last night!)
PSN, fortunately, has the details on the outage, which was roughly bordered by Eaton Canyon, Loma Alta, Fair Oaks, and Washington. Cause apparently was power lines near the golf course that caught fire due to the heavy electrical usage in the heat.
UPDATE 5 PM: Several readers have alerted us (and we have confirmed) that the story is no longer up on the Star News website. What's up with that?????
