- Altadena author Michelle Hunevan will read from her new novel "Blame" and sign copies of her books at Vroman's Bookstore, 695 E. Colorado, Pasadena, at 7 PM.
Fri., Sept. 11
- A USO Show will be presented by Show of Support/Theater Americana at 7 PM at the Farnsworth Park Amphitheater. Donna Scarantino, president of the organization, says: "Would like to let everyone know that all military, police and fire department personnel are invited as our guests and will be honored in the opening ceremony." 7 PM, admission $10, and benefits Farnsworth Park's after school program.
Sat., Sept. 12
- The Arroyo Timebank will hold a yard sale at the Zane Grey Estate, 8 AM-5 PM.
- Sometime between 11:30-12:30 PM, artist Bruce Nauman will present a skywriting artwork over the Arroyo in honor of the Armory Center for the Art's 20th anniversary. Best places to view are the Rose Bowl, Brookside Park, La Loma Bridge, or the Colorado St. Bridge.
- Bulgarini Gelato continues its Italian dinner and a movie series with "Mediterraneo." Dinner starts at 7:30 ($12 a plate), film at 8:15 (free), gelateria open throughout.
- Hot August Night, a Neil Diamond tribute, will cap off the Sheriff's Support Group of Altadena's summer concert series. Concert starts 7 PM.
Sun., Sept. 13
- Monthly bluegrass jam at the Coffee Gallery Backstage, 12:30 to 3:30 PM or so.
