- The Bob Lucas branch library, 2659 N Lincoln Ave., will have a Valentine cookie decorating activity, also starting at 3:30 Friday.

- Sacred Heart Church, 2889 N. Lincoln Ave in Altadena, is celebrating Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) New Orleans-style from 7-11 PM. Tickets cost $15 per person, $25 per couple. Contact Edwina Clay at 626-794-7814 to purchase or for more information.
- Theatre Americana returns to Davies Hall at Farnsworth Park with a reception and staged reading of an original play, "Polterheist." There will be a special reception preceding the performance to celebrate Theatre Americana's return. This event is in collaboration with L.A. Sun., Feb. 15
- Coffee Gallery will holds its monthly Bluegrass Jam from 12:30-3:30, followed by "In the Name of Love," a benefit for the people of Haiti, starting at 3:30. Free, but donations are accepted.
