Two Altadena men, suspected of committing several residential burglaries, were caught in the act Aug. 16 when they broke into a house without knowing that they were being tailed by detectives the whole time, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to a sheriff’s press release, detectives from Altadena Station and Major Crimes Bureau were conducting a surveillance of the two men, who were suspected of numerous burglaries in Altadena and Pasadena. Detectives saw the men break into a residence on the 1100 block of Beverly Way and arrested them on the way out. A stolen gun was among the property recovered from the home.
Our readers on the scene reported major police activity during the incident, including the helicopter and several squad cars. Altadena Sheriff Capt. Steven McLean, at last night’s town council meeting, said that this brings the total of arrested burglary suspects at 42 for the year.
