PSN is reporting that two women were saved from a spectacular home fire Tuesday morning on the 3000 block of Concha St. off of Lake Ave.
This morning's print version has more details than the earlier story linked above: Richard Engersbach, a law enforcement technician and civilian employee of the Sheriff's Dept., spotted the fire in the front of the house and called it in from his car radio, then pounded on doors on the side and back of the house to wake up the sleeping residents. The interesting thing in the story is that -- apparently there are so many scams going on in town -- that the two women didn't believe him at first when he said he was a sheriff's employee and the front of their house was on fire.
