At Tuesday night's PUSD school board meeting, it was Loma Alta parents' turn to protest the potential closure of their school, Brian Charles at PSN reports. School supt. Edwin Diaz will soon make his recommendations to the board about which schools to close for the next school year.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise has a story by Kimberly Pierceall about Riverside-based electronic component manufacturer Bourns, Inc. Bourns is receiving an entrepreneurship award for its 63 years in the business. It's a classic story in that the firm was started in the Altadena garage of its founder before moving to the Inland Empire in 1950.
