- Fun and Games Friday at the Altadena Library. Teens and tweens are invited to come on over and enjoy traditional and video games, with some snacks just for you. Come and hang out, have fun, snack and socialize. 3:30-5 PM at the Library, 600 E. Mariposa.
- Webster's Fine Stationers, 2450 N. Lake Suite B, will host local author Hugh Bonar in a celebration of his novel, Avalon. There will also be live music, and the OddballGrape.com's Anne Bannon and Michael Holland will lead wine tasting paired with traditional holiday foods. It starts at 6 PM.
Sat., Nov. 20
- LA County Parks & Recreation's Thanksgiving Adult Co-ed Softball Tournament will be held all day, starting at 8 AM at Farnsworth Park.
- Rain or shine, don't miss the Pasadena Waldorf School's 25th Annual Elves' Faire. (They've rented extra tents to keep things dry, but bring your rain gear!) Get ready for the holiday magic with food, live music, games, and handmade gifts. 209 E. Mariposa St., from 10 AM-4 PM.
Sun., Nov. 21
- "Sip and Swab" at Susan Carrier's house. Local residents age 18-60 are invited to enjoy mimosas and swab your cheeks to join the national bone marrow registery. If you're a match, you could save the life of a patient in need of a stem cell transplant. Asians, African Americans, Latinos and racial mixes are especially needed. - The Altadena Urban Farmer's Market will be held rain or shine at the Zane Grey Estate, 396 E. Mariposa, from 1-4 PM. More vendors, a cookbook exchange, and homemade, local goods. And goats!
