The Altadena Urban Farmers Market is on for this Sunday at the Zane Grey Estate, 396 E. Mariposa, despite the forecast for rain. The market will be held indoors in case of rain. We have 30% more vendors than last month. In addition to homemade foods, there will be many other Altadena-made items. Altadenans can do some Christmas shopping at the Market and help keep their hard earned dollars in Altadena. This month's market will be held from 1-4 PM, earlier than last month, so we don't have to shop in the dark.
More information about the market, including photos of some of the items that will be available, can be found at www.facebook.com/AltadenaUrbanFarmersMarket. This month we will also be holding a cook book exchange. I love this piece from Eat LA about the market and the cook book exchange, which describes Altadenans as "industrious suburban homesteaders." Industrious we are!
Shoppers should bring shopping bags (because the AUFM was one step ahead of the county in banning plastic shopping bags!) and should walk if they can to reduce parking congestion in the neighborhood.
