The question for us this week is: why would anyone park their car in the 24 Hour Fitness lot, since something gets stolen there frequently?
Wed., Dec. 8
Between 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM Fri., Dec. 15th – A grand theft occurred in the 500 block of E. Calaveras Street. The victim placed a delivery order on 12/2 and expected the package to arrive within a few days. After several days passed the victim became suspicious and contacted UPS to verify the delivery. UPS advised the victim that the package was delivered on 12/8. Loss: Vitamix 5200 blender, value $711.20.
Monday, Dec. 13
9:15 AM – A robbery occurred at Woodbury Road and Glenrose Avenue. The victim was walking to school and was approached by a male, African‐American, 5’10, 150 lbs, wearing a red beanie, gray sweatshirt, and gray sweatpants. The suspect asked the victim for the time and the victim removed an I‐pod to check the time. The victim provided the suspect with the time and continued walking. A few minutes later, the suspect blocked the victim’s path with a razor scooter and demanded the I‐pod. The suspect told the victim he had a gun and demanded the I‐Pod or else he’d shoot the victim. The victim feared for his safety and handed over the I‐Pod. Loss: black I‐Pod.
Tues., Dec. 14
Between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM – A residential burglary occurred in the 1500‐block of Crest Dr. Suspect(s) entered the residence by shattering the front window. Loss: (1) women’s diamond ring valued at $10,000, (1) men’s gold band, and a small metal jewelry box.
Wed., Dec. 15
Between 5:10 PM and 5:30 PM – A petty theft occurred at St. Marks School, 1050 E. Altadena Dr. A male, African‐ American, approx. 45 yrs, 6’00, 180, brown hair, brown eyes, walked into a classroom while it was occupied by a teacher. The teacher asked the male what he needed and he stated “I’m here to pick up my kids.” The male then approached the teacher’s desk and retrieved a Canon camera that was on top of the desk. The male then proceeded to leave the classroom when the teacher told the male that the camera in his pocket was not his. The male turn around, removed the camera from his pocket and placed it back on the desk. The male then left. Loss: none.
Between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM – A residential burglary occurred in the 1800 block of N. Allen Avenue. The suspect(s) made entry via the unlocked front door while the victim was in the second floor of the residence. During this time the victim advised that no noise was heard. Loss: $475.00, black leather appointment book, and mint green address book.
Thurs., Dec. 16
Between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM – A vehicle burglary occurred in the parking structure of 24 Hr. Fitness, 2180 N Lincoln Ave. Suspect(s) damaged the driver’s side door handle with an unknown object to gain entry. Loss: credit cards and $180.00.
Fri., Dec. 17
Between 6:00 PM and 2:30 PM, Saturday – A grand theft from (2) unlocked vehicles occurred in the 1300 block of La Solana Drive. Suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicles which were parked in the driveway. Loss: keys to a Mercedes and Porsche.
