We've had a couple of readers ask about major police presence early this morning, and we saw a stop ourselves with multiple sheriff cars on Lake Ave. Altadena Station tells us that they're checking on parolees and probationers today to make sure they're in compliance with the rules they have to follow. These checks usually involve multiple officers deployed for safety's sake.
UPDATE 1 PM: Twelve arrests so far, says Altadena Station -- there's supposed to be a full press statement later, so we're waiting on that.
UPDATE: Latest we have are 12 arrests total and a number of weapons confiscated during the course of the day, according to the sheriffs (the promised press release didn't materialize, tho!) We got what little information we had by calling the watch commander at about 5:30, who said we could get more by calling Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) headquarters ... and COPS said they were awaiting information from Altadena Station. Get the story straight, guys.
