The library's Poetry and Cookies celebration is coming up April 9, and we think they need to set up a whole session called "Poems about Code Enforcement." Gloriana Casey has weighed in on this page, and now Alta-poet Tony Peyser has contributed another one to the Pasadena Star-News (along with plugging tomorrow's ACONA meeting). We think it's time for a folk song ... ADDENDUM: Why code enforcement? Tony writes us:
TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION, I'LL MODIFY AN OLD LINE: MAYBE POETS ARE JUST LIKE CANARIES IN A COAL MINE.
Amanda, owner of Andy the Dog, writes: "Just wanted to thank the folks who saw the blog and called me with Andy sightings. Special thanks for the two who tried to catch Andy on the 210 freeway and the person who did managed to catch him and take him to the Humane Society. We are thankful to have our dog back and to have such great caring neighbors. Also, big thanks to Pasadena Humane Society. Andy is a lucky dog and is happy to be home safely."
Altadena resident Binti Harvey, director of communications and community engagement at PUSD, has tendered her resignation and will take a position as director of institute marketing at Caltech (PSN has more here). Harvey is the third announced departure from the school district's top ranks in recent weeks, including Supt. Edwin Diaz and chief academic officer Alice Petrossian.
