A 10-year-old boy on a bicycle walked away after being struck by a car Thursday night.
According to Officer Ming-Yang Hsu of the California Highway Patrol, the non-injury collision occured at the intersection of Glenrose Avenue and Poppyfields Drive shortly after 6 PM. The boy and the driver of the car, 76, are both Altadena residents.
According to Hsu, the initial investigation shows that both were traveling southbound on Glenrose Avenue. As they entered the intersection with Poppyfields, the boy turned in front of the car due east, and they sideswiped. Hsu said that the boy walked away from the collision. The motorist followed and contacted an adult at the residence. The initial investigation shows that the boy made an illegal left turn, Hsu said. The boy was wearing a helmet at the time.
