Gail Casburn, co-owner of the Atladena Ale and Wine House (Altadenablog sponsor), said Tuesday that she intends to run for the town council seat in Census Tract 4610.
Casburn -- whose home and business are both in the census tract -- said that as a longtime resident, new local business owner, and educator, she can add an important voice to the council.
The seat is presently held by Gene Campbell.
Casburn and her husband Judah have lived in Altadena for 22 years. In addition to owning the Ale House (which opened a year ago), she is a mathematics and computer science teacher with the Baldwin Park Unified School District. The Casburns formerly owned Lucky Baldwin's in Pasadena.
Candidates must file their paperwork at the Altadena Community Center by 5 PM May 10. More information on applying is available here.
