Jessica from Reever Way gives us some disturbing news: two neighborhood feral cats have been injured -- one had to be put down with a leg wound that the vet said resembled an exit wound, and as of Sunday afternoon the neighborhood was trying to capture a cat who was "dragging an almost severed leg behind him." The suspicion is that someone nearby is shooting and/or using a leghold trap on cats:
If someone is doing this on purpose, I and many others on this will do everything in our power to find who is responsible. This kind of thing will not and cannot be tolerated in our city/community. Forgive me for being so upset. I just saw this cat with a mangled leg limping away in terrible pain and it just breaks my heart.
Jessica says that they'll be reporting this to the sheriff's Monday, and any help you can give is appreciated.
